NASA's Psyche mission is set to make a close flyby of Mars on May 15, 2025, utilizing the planet's gravity to adjust its trajectory towards its ultimate destination, the metal-rich asteroid Psyche. Launched on October 13, 2023, the spacecraft will pass just 2,800 miles above Mars at a speed of 12,333 mph. The success of this maneuver will be confirmed through a Doppler shift in the signals received from the spacecraft.
