The USG Corporation is set to invest $1.2 billion in a new factory in Orange, Texas, which will create nearly 200 jobs. This expansion marks a significant step for the gypsum products manufacturer as it aims to enhance its operational footprint in the region, with plans that have been in the works since early 2025.
The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has released a report advocating for enhancements to the USMCA trade agreement, emphasizing that it can be made even more favorable for U.S. manufacturing. As the agreement approaches its six-year review, NAM suggests that process improvements could further bolster domestic manufacturing competitiveness.
